Trading in her car was always a hassle but unfortunately she couldn't take the chance of Kyle's or her car being tracked back to Boston. The last thing she needed when seeing Jesse again was a dozen government agents appearing just in time to crash the reunion. With a little coercion she managed to get almost an even trade for her 2003 Saturn Ion for a 2007 Toyota Camry. She felt a little bad for the guy because he'd probably be in some trouble later but hopefully it wouldn't be too much.

Her stuff was already packed so she spent the remaining hour shopping for the trip. Soda, munchies, even sandwich fixings were all put in a cooler so they wouldn't have to stop as often. Didn't have to look up Jesse's address in Boston to plan the route. She'd thought about going there so many times she knew it by heart. 2,580 miles from Sedona to Boston. So roughly a 2 day drive if they didn't stop too many times. They'd spent longer times in a car together just never by themselves.

Rain pounded against the window pane while she hugged a pillow tightly to her chest. The bed shouldn’t have felt empty. Jesse and she had only spent a few months under the same roof and some of that he spent on business trips or all nighters at the firm. So she shouldn’t have felt so small in that bed by herself but the loneliness was overwhelming.

What’s worse was that she wasn’t even sure it was her husband she needed so much as just anyone. Someone who loved her to hold her and tell her it would be okay. But there was no one. Even if they all came together again it wouldn’t be the same. It would never be what it was back when her, Max and Michael were each other’s everything. Max risked all of their lives and safety to save Liz and now they were married. She didn’t want to believe it at first but he made a choice and it wasn’t Isabel. The same went with Michael. They were all set to go and Michael decided to stay before they even found out about Tess. They both found their family in someone else and while they were all stuck together in that stupid van it became blindingly apparent. There just wasn’t much room for her anymore. Somehow she’d become the fifth wheel in her own family.

Nothing she had experienced with Jesse came close to what Max and even Michael had. He loved her and she loved him but she knew that a part of what they had died the day she almost did. The day he found out about who and what she was. He never looked at her the same way. His kisses were bittersweet. And while their time apart was agony she knew that he would never be able to forgive her for turning his life inside out. Because of her, he was a killer, a liar, and under suspicion by the government. It was just too much for their speedy romance to endure. There was really only one thing left to do but the hope of what could be was the only thing she had to hold onto.

Quietly tears fell as she squeezed her pillow a little tighter. She was stronger than this. She wasn’t a child anymore and she would be okay. The next day she would rise early, go for a run, and plan her day like this momentary weakness never happened. She just had to get through the night.

No.

I've come to the conclusion that my brother goes topless entirely too much and I just don't need to see that.
